H(API) Hour was originally created by San Francisco's City Attorney David Chiu decades ago to bring together young Asian professionals living in the city. We are excited to revive this event series as a way to support the #StopAsianHate movement and bring attention to young Asian activists!

About the event
Join us for our second H(API) Hour, where we support a AAPI owned bar, make new friends and engage in discourse. We are so excited to have special guest Parents Are Human join us this month. Founder Joseph Lam will be sharing his story of how and why he decided to create this card game. (Sign up link in linktree in bio 🔝) 🗓 Thursday 𝟗/𝟐9 ⏰ 7-9𝐩𝐦 📍Tiki Haven (1334 Noriega St.) The Asian American identity is unique as we not only struggle with a generational barrier, but sometimes also cultural and language barriers when it comes to communicating and connecting with our immigrant parents. The theme of the night is: How do you communicate with your (Asian) parents and what are some of the barriers you face?
"Parents Are Human (https://parentsarehuman.com) is a bilingual card game that helps spark deep conversations between you and your loved ones. Each deck contains 70 increasingly deep prompts, with two levels of difficulty, to inspire connection, compassion, and vulnerability. Each card includes a question or action in English on the front and a translated language (now in 15 language editions) on the back to help bridge language, culture, and generational gaps."
